• Registration will begin at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
• Sessions are filled on a first-come first paid basis. Parents/guardians can register for any or all of the sessions based on availability. Full payment is due upon registration.
• If you have not created an account on www.chicopeerec.com, this must be done first for your household. Each child attending OPEE must be added as a "member" with all of their pertinent information.
• Under "Additional Forms and Files" below, please download and complete the 2026 OPEE Registration Packet below for EACH child attending the program.
• After you register online, the 2026 OPEE Registration Packet MUST be returned via email/scan to Dan Woodill at dwoodill@chicopeema.gov for your child to officially be accepted at OPEE (by latest Friday, May 29)
• If you cannot utilize the email/scan, another option is to bring the packet to the Chicopee Parks and Recreation Office at 687 Front St., or mailed to the office (by latest Friday, May 29)
• Registration is not complete without all required forms sent/handed in. Without them a child cannot attend OPEE.
• MEDICALS: If your child hasn't had a physical that will cover them through ALL of the weeks of the program, please call your doctor ASAP to schedule a new physical. If the updated medicals are not available by the May 29 cut off date PLEASE let the Parks Department staff know the date of your child's new physical so they can write it on the OPEE Registration Forms that have been submitted to the office. Doctor's office printouts of medical forms are accepted.

OPEE T-Shirts will be given out at the first day of your child attending OPEE (along with a welcome sheet and other pertinent information) and MUST be worn on the following days of the Field Trips:

Session 1: Fun Hub Action Park (Hadley, MA) on Thursday, July 2. -Play structure, Trampolines, Ninja Course, Bumper Cars, and more. *All children must have a waiver filled out*

Session 2: Majestic Theater (West Springfield, MA) on Tuesday, July 7. -Children's show
Breezy Park for Groups 1-4 (Douglas, MA) on Thursday, July 9. -Small waterslide, Swimming (lifeguards on duty)
Quassy Amusement Park for Groups 5-8 (Middlebury, CT) on Thursday, July 9. -Unlimited rides, Waterpark, and Quassy Beach

Session 3: Sonny's Place (Somers, CT) on Thursday, July 16. -Bumper boats, Rock walls, Batting cages and more. *All children must have a waiver filled out*

Session 4: Lake Compounce (Bristol, CT) on Thursday, July 23. -Amusement rides, Water Park and more.

Session 5: Majestic Theater (West Springfield, MA) on Tuesday, July 28. -Children's show
Revolutions Bowling and Arcade (Hadley, MA) on Thursday, July 30. -Unlimited bowling and arcade.

Session 6: Interskate 91 South (Wilbraham, MA) on Tuesday, August 4. -Roller-skating time!

Leader’s in Training (LIT’s) are those young men and women who aspire one day to become counselors. They help out with the younger groups, and assist in all daily activities. All applicants will go through an interview, are trained, and then are under the guidance of our directors. LIT's must be at least 14 years old by June 1, 2026 to apply. No monies are paid at registration online. Please download and fill out this sheet below and send to Dan Woodill at dwoodill@chicopeema.gov or drop off the form at the Chicopee Parks Department at 687 Front St. Chicopee, MA 01013. With questions, call the office at 594-3481. Submissions must be sent in by Friday, May 8, 2026. If selected, LIT's must submit full medical forms that cover the weeks they are attending.

An optional Pre-Program will be offered again this summer for parents/guardians who need to drop off their child or children early. This will take place at Stefanik from 7:45 AM –8:30 AM. We ask that the parent/guardian please walk their child inside each day to quickly sign in for the early sessions. There is a limit of 10 participants and the fee will be an extra $50 per session. Session 1 is only four days due to the holiday so there is a $40 charge for that session. Session 6 is only Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday so there is a $30 charge for that session at Stefanik. Signups are for the entire week, not particular days. See below to register.

In conjunction with the Chicopee Public Library, the Parks Department and OPEE have teamed up with the library for the past several years to bring the Chicopee Bookmobile our way. A child favorite, the mobile comes to OPEE every Monday from 12:30 PM-1:30 PM and the children have the option of reading books onsite, using their iPad, and also have the opportunity to take out books.
